Nutmeg Curling Club League Descriptions

 

Monday Afternoon Juniors - 4 PM                               League Chair: Deeanna McLenithan

Junior curlers age 8 and up are welcomed to sign up for this league. Instruction and games will be held.

Monday Evening Men’s - 7/8/9 PM                   League Chair: Robert Kwan

Men curlers of all levels are welcomed to sign up for thisleague. Number of draws contingent upon # ofteams playing. Teams will be formed through a skip’s draw. *

Tuesday Morning Open - 10 AM                             League Chair: Anne Palmer & Diane Muldowney

Men & women curlers of all levels are welcomed to sign up for this league. Come fine tune your game in a relaxed, non-competitive environment! Teams are assigned by league chair.

Tuesday Afternoon High School – 3:30 PM          League Chair: Jim Meinhold

Open to all high school age curlers.  Weekly league competition against other schools.  

Tuesday Open Competitive - 7/9 PM                     LeagueChair: Steve Mannik

Open format, any combination of men/women on a team.  A team entry league where the team stays together for the whole season (interested individuals without a team should notify the chair who will try to find them a team).  Teams divided into an "A" and "B" division. Season played in segments with teamsbeing "restacked" to determine "A" and "B" divisions for each round.  League champion will be determined by a season ending playoff between the top 4 teams.  *

Wednesday Casual Open – 5 PM                             League Chair: Larry Zaleski

Curlers of all levels are welcomed to sign up for this league. Open format, any combination of men/women on a team. Players can sign up for as many dates or as few as they choose.Teams are created for each week by league chair. Once scheduled for a date, those scheduled are expected to find a sub if their plans change. *

Wednesday Evening Women’s - 7:30 PM                      LeagueChair: Marianne Roggemann

Women curlers of all levels are welcomed to sign up for this league. Teams are assigned by league chair.*    

Thursday Afternoon High School – 3:30 PM        League Chair: Jim Meinhold

Open to all high school age curlers. Weekly league competition against other schools.   

Thursday Evening Open - 7/9 PM                          League Chair: Mark Malkin

Open to men and women of all levels; opportunity for new curlers to learn from those with more experience. You may sign up as a single or a pair; teams formed through a skip's draft.  *

Friday Evening TGIF - 7/9 PM                                League Chair: Giuseppe Russo

Open to men and women of all levels. Curlers are paired either by request or randomly. Each week pairs are re-arranged. During the season, you will either play with or against everyone in the league.  Great way to meet other curlers!  Sign up as a single or pair.  *

Sunday Collection Plate Open - 10 AM                  League Chair: Frank Aulenti

Open to men & women of all levels. Play is for a medal & trophy that resembles a church collection plate. Teams are made up by league chair with curlers changing weekly.   If interest is high, we may have more structured teams for the Jan-Mar season.  *   Co-Chair: George Garofalo

Sunday Afternoon Crocs – 2 PM                            League Chairs: Mike & Laura Marchionna

Open to men and women of all levels. 8-end matches in a “competitive but friendly” format provide an opportunity for newer curlers to learn and play along side those with more experience.  Fall teams are assigned by league chair, winter teams formed through a Skip's draft.  *
